TICK
Villain? There’s a villain
involved?
TICK
You sure you couldn’t bend
the rules just
a little? Maybe tell us how we could find
him and stop him?
Page 13
Panel 1
In the background, Noodge smacks his forehead with his
open palm. Foreground Arthur explains to a bewildered Tick
SFX
(Noodge hitting his
forehead)
ARTHUR
He already did, Tick—
Now the Tick’s got it. He gives off-panel Noodge a big
“thumb’s-up” and a wink.
TICK
Ohhhh! Right! Got
it, big guy!
Wide. Tick holds the tiny scythe, with both hands at arms
length, as far from himself and Arthur as he can. He’s
bracing himself for the energy that is already leaking
from the scythe.
TICK
Come
Arthur. Let’s cut wind
for justice!
SFX
(scythe)
>rattlerattle<
Similar to previous. Tick and Arthur have vanished in a
swirl of the energy.
Page 14-15
DOUBLE-PAGE SPLASH
Tick and Arthur appear as tiny figures at the CROSSROADS
OF TIME, a simple dirt road, floating in the middle of a
star and psychedelic-swirl filled void. The surrounding
"sky" is filled with giant floating clocks, hour glasses
and literal block number "years."
TICK
Groovy. Where are we?
Closer on Tick and Arthur. Arthur is reading the STREET
SIGN. Tick rubs his chin, deep in thought.
ARTHUR
The sign says “the crossroads of time.“
TICK
Then we’ll just have to try again...
SFX
(off-panel car)
Tick reacts quickly, shoving Arthur out of the path of an
oncoming car. The car is a DeLorean (I’ve got reference if
you need it).
TICK
Look out, Arthur!
SFX
(off-panel car)
New Angle, the car is a blur as it RUNS OVER the Tick.
New angle. Foreground, a dazed Tick is sitting up in a
Tick-shaped crater in the road. Arthur is tending to him.
Background car is flying away.
FLYING CAR
(small balloon,
lettering)
Doc? I think you ran over that guy!
TICK
(small letters in a
“woozy” balloon)
Arthur, Are you all right?
ARTHUR.
You saved my life! I should be asking you
that.
Closer on Woozy Tick.
TICK
(“woozy” balloon)
Hokay. Am I
all right?
Tick is on his feet again. Arthur looks around nervously.
ARTHUR
Maybe we should get out of here. It’s not
safe.
TICK
I’ll
say! That guy was going like 90 miles
an hour...
Wider. Tick is holding the scythe at arms length again.
The energy swirls around him and Arthur.
TICK
Come on then, Arthur! Let’s once again
grasp destiny by the handle and give it a
shake!
