Exterior, Establishing PATERSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
CAPTION
Paterson Elementary School, Paterson, New
Jersey...
TALKING SCHOOL
Good morning class! Who wants to start?
Interior a CLASSROOM, looking towards the front of the room.
The schoolteacher, MRS. AGGERSON, is giving up the floor to
an eight year-old Caucasian girl, MELLISA, who is struggling
mightily to display a doll house.
MRS. AGGERSON
Go ahead, Mellisa.
MELLISA
This is my doll house!
Tight as Mellisa displays her doll house.
MELLISA
It's got little furnitures in it, an'--
New angle reveals Mrs. Aggerson looking disapprovingly at a
very bored looking NICK, who slumps in his desk.
MRS. AGGERSON
What did you say, Nick?
NICK
I said doll houses are boring.
An angry Mellisa is right in Nick's face. She has set the
doll house down. Nick is cool, standing next to his desk.
Mrs. Aggerson is looking on, but has temporarily lost control
of the situation.
MELLISA
I suppose you got something better!!
NICK
As a matter of fact, I do.
Nick is going out of the classroom door.
MRS. AGGERSON
Nick! I didn't give you a hall pass!
NICK
I'll be right back...
The classroom and Mrs. Aggerson gasp in shock at the sight of
what Nick has dragged by the hand to the front of the class.
It's the gigantic and horrifying figure of DEATHLOK.
NICK
Here's what Ibrought, the ultimate war
machine.
DEATHLOK
This is soembarrassing...
Mrs Aggerson has her arms folded in disapproval. Nick is
ready to forge ahead. Mellisa stares up at Deathlok in
terror.
MRS. AGGERSON
All right, Nick. If Mellissa doesn't
mind, you may continue.
MELLISA
(TINY LETTERING)
NICK
Okay. Say, hi to everybody, Dad.
Deathlok waves lamely at the class. PETER is amazed.
Nick off-handedly explains to Peter, who has calmed down
considerably.
NICK
Surehe does, Pete. See, my dad's brain
was transplanted into this cyborg war
machine but thenhe took it over and now
it does whatever he tells it to.
RUTH waves her hand excitedly as she asks her question.
RUTH
Mr. Deathlok! Mr. Deathlok! Do you
sleep?
DEATHLOK
Yes. Even though my Cyborg body doesn't
get tired, my human brain does.
As Deathlok explains to Ruth. PHIL asks another question.
DEATHLOK
Some scientists think that the brain does
a number of important "housekeeping"
functions while we sleep.
PHIL
How strongare you?
