Son of Bartholomew and Josephine McNamara. Born and died at 1803 Grove Street Vicksburg, Mississippi. Graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1898 and was employed as an office boy at Louis Hoffman Hardware Company. Subsequently became a shipping clerk and then traveling salesman. F.X. McNamara, better known as Barney became vice-president when the hardware became O’Neal-McNamara Hardware Company. He was Husband to Margaret Elizabeth Anderson and Father to 11 Children (Listed Below).

Attended St. Francis Xavier Academy. Learned bookkeeping at the Gas Company. Initially employed as the only female teller at First National Bank November 1, 1941. Later moved to the Savings Department and then retired to “My hill on grove Street” at age 61.

Employed as a Maintenance Scheduler a Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Alexandria. Member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Husband to Marie Eve Gaubert McNamara. Father to three daughters, Melanie Ann McNamara, Tanya Vanessa McNamara Turner and Deidre Lanee McNamara.
