DITMAR BOLLAERT
Ditmar Bollaert was born in Deinze, Belgium on the 18th of November 1960. He lives and works in Ghent. He was educated in Art Humanities at the “Institute St.-Lucas” in Ghent and in Film and Photography at the “Royal Academy of Fine Arts” in Ghent where he graduated in 1983.
From 1983 until 1986 he worked for the Operahouses in Ghent and Antwerp, also for the “Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders” and the “International Festival of Flanders”.
Since 1987 he is working as a professional artist.
In 1989 he became co-founder of the “Laterna Magica Galantee Show”, an audio-visual project with 19th century animation techniques. The group performed in Belgium, The Netherlands, Great Brittain, Germany and France.
He is professor in photography at the St.-Lucasacademy in Ghent.
