Day 3: Albuquerque

Wrapped up my Albuquerque stop with a little more walking around downtown and a visit to Old Town. Toured the American International Rattlesnake Museum and the National Atomic Museum there before hopping back on the Rapid Ride back to the train station. While waiting for the train to arrive, I'm partaking in a wonderful smoothie to boost my immunity. The lack of sleep on the first leg of train travel hit me hard, and not even a full six hours on a Tempur-Pedic mattress could cure the fatigue. I've checked Amtrak.com, and there is a roomette available for tonight's segment to California, so I will upgrade on board (estimated cost: $146, meals included). I arrive in downtown LA at 8:15 a.m. tomorrow.

Albuquerque was a welcoming place, but I think I'm done with enchiladas for awhile.

Separately, I received my first post-separation paycheck today. The next one I receive will be for having done no work at all. I think I will relish that one the most.
