Migrating hawks use thermals and wind of the
surrounding ridges to save energy. These ridges
as determined on a topo map correspond to the
room's four walls. The location of the building
correlates to a point on the floor. The topo map is
projected on the walls and floor. When seen from our
common eyelevel above the point on the floor, the
map is foreshortened in correct proportion. The
projected map, drawn on the walls and floor, corresponds
to the land beyond it. Captured video images
of the Headlands overlay the maps on each wall.
These painted and printed images mirror the room's two windows.
