Micromouse?
The MicroMouse competition is a design contest that brings
together mechanical design, electrical design, controls,
and programming with the purpose of building a maze solving
robot.
The contest itself has a 30 year history which is discussed
briefly in the "History" section.
The rules for MicroMouse have been stable since the
contest's inception and they are discussed in detail under
the "Rules" section.
MicroMouse competitions are held all over the world for
every age category and level of education. Some of the
bigger competitions and the ones most pertinent to UAF
students are discussed under "Competitions."
Finally, the "Examples /
Links" section
shows some outstanding mice that have dominated national
and worlds competitions as well as some designs from
college and high school level contests. Some of the
links that I've found useful when building a mouse are
included also.
