Title
- Ancient Ruin in Chaco Canyon
How I did it -
This was taken in Chaco Canyon, NM. I have had a number of articles and pictures published, or soon will be, in children's magazines, about Chaco. This photo is one of them. I was going to make it a creative picture, but everything I did with it didn't seem as good as the original. So I straightened it a bit, but not completely, because the doors and buildings there aren't perfectly straight to begin with, probably due to the long time they've been there. I did corrections including cloning, to get rid of a few hot spots where the sun hit the floor. And last, added a small frame. The color you see is the color that is there in the ancient buildings. I sharpened, and decided not to do more

Very nice image of a historic place. The receding doorways are very interesting and draw the viewer into the image. The only distraction is the brightness of the rocks in the foreground. This could be toned down a bit so it isn't so bright. |

The eye is led through the doorways and makes for an interesting composition. The highlights should be darkened slightly to bring back some detail. |

I took almost the same photo in Chaco Canyon, so it has a deja vu feel. So of course I like it! I love the receding doorways. I had a lower angle of view and I liked it slightly better . Mine was a slide. If I scanned it, I will send it to you. |

Interesting doorways. Sunlit area at bottom draws my eye out of the picture. Good use of borders. |
