Hub & Spokes

January 2009

Title - Hub & Spokes

How I did it -

This montage was created by blending two images. Then I tried the various Blending Modes, selecting Hue. A simple black frame was added.

COMMENTS:
Kenneth Deitcher, MD, FPSA

I like the symmetry of the image and the placement of the converging lines off center. The white edge effect on some of the wrought iron is interesting.

Barbara Mallon

I really like the iron work pattern. Interesting creation. It has an umbrella feel. My only quibble is that the colors would not be my choice.

Shirley Ramaley

I can't see the frame with the black background, but nice colors and interesting image. Lovely pattern. I would only soften the black circle. It does draw my eye but keeps it there.

John Rodete

Dewey Val Schorre

Center of interest placed at crash point with lines leading to it. A winner. Unusual combination of colors.

Member Bio
Elaine Icklan - Biography

I live in Manchester, NJ with my husband, Tom, who is an avid amateur photographer. We have two children, Ken and Karen, who also enjoy taking pictures. I first started taking pictures when Tom and I went to the Galapagos a few years ago. Being able to photograph creatures with my Nikon at such close range was amazing. I really enjoy nature and macro work. Since retiring four years ago from teaching I have had more time to pursue my hobby, which now includes digital imaging. A Canon S40 was my first digital camera, but after using it for some time I wanted something that offered more features. I now own a Nikon Coolpix 5700, which I am very pleased with. Participating in a DI group will give me an opportunity to improve my skills in photography and Photoshop.
