March '09 - Present : Staff Engineer, Qualcomm Inc.'s Advanced Technologies Group, San Diego.
- Developing new products and services, prototyping ideas, and building a business case around them.
- Project Lead, Copacabana – a new service for connecting people and businesses. Developed the idea from concept to a business case for a Qualcomm-run service. In the process of pitching it to obtain funding for feasibility analysis. Built a team to develop a roadmap to prototype. Identified a business unit to commercialize the service.
- Co-inventor on 4 pending patents related to enhanced phone user experiences.
- Awarded a ‘Qualstar’, an internal award for enabling a joint trial with a Japanese collaborator for a Location-based profiling system, driving design discussions and engineering engagement with them.

June '04 - March '09 : Senior Engineer, Qualcomm MediaFLO Technologies, San Diego.
- Led a 5-member team developing software for the core subsystem of the FLO TV Mobile TV platform that delivers Live TV to Mobile devices.
- Drove roadmap, end-to-end design & implementation for multiple features & tools, working with inter-disciplinary teams. Notable examples include strategic objectives such as enabling 3rd party video encoders into the system and high-impact features resulting in 2 additional channels broadcasted by FLO TV.
- Improved software quality and motivated team to meet milestones on time and above expectations, delivering over 10 major features on an aggressive schedule and with a minimal number of post-release issues.
- Streamlined interactions with other teams, increased the visibility into the team’s role & achievements and enabled professional development of team members resulting in higher productivity and satisfaction.
- Joint Inventor on over 5 pending patents related to novel video encoding algorithms, capacity and efficiency improvements, forming key differentiators for FLO technology.
- Awarded a “QualStar”, a Qualcomm award, for enabling MediaFLO integration with 3rd party vendors such as Newport Media Inc.
- Awarded a “QualStar”, a Qualcomm award, for enabling the first FLO TV trial and showcase at CTIA 2005.

- Core member of the Qualcomm Innovation Network (QIN) VentureFest (internal Business Plan competition) 2008 Winning Team.
- Originated the idea and built a business plan with an NPV of $200M, opening up a new line of business around using FLO Technology.
- Spearheaded the competition-winning technical demo, acclaimed by Qualcomm’s CEO.
- Drove the use cases and product mockups, and developed a roadmap for the go-to-market strategy and service commercialization. Proposed a solution for integration with an upcoming VenueCasting service provider.
- Co-inventor on 4 pending patents related to the idea.

Computer Vision Group at USC, working with Dr. Isaac Cohen, IRIS on
the Doheny Retina Institute's Advanced
Macular Diagnostics Project.
- Worked on a novel algorithm to extract 'Y' features from retinal images with an aim to improve registration
- Worked on analysis and feasibility of being able to extract the depth information from a pair of retinal images.

networking and computer related technical support (installations,
troubleshooting, and maintenance) and developing and maintaining
ASP based websites for departments within the division ( Academic
Integration
Model).
- Maintained and revamped a website accessed by over 2000 students regularly.
