... Italian specialist sites

www.winespectator.com
My favourite. Quite simply the best wine site in town. Italian wines, producers and news get a pretty fair share. Don’t miss it.

www.gamberorosso.it
In Italian - English option. Site of the producers of one of the best Italian annual wine assessments around. Restaurants, hotels, news, wine.

www.viniesaporidipuglia.com
Italian site centred on Puglian wine. Excellent coverage of a fascinating, emerging area with knowledgeable portraits of the producers involved.

www.made-in-italy.com
Wine site introduced by Victor Hazan, whose book, Italian Wine, back in the early 80s launched a whole literary genre. Top-class coverage of regions and wines. Some bits maybe not as up-to-date as you might want.

www.agriline.it
In Italian - English option. Good general site ... extensive lists of producers etc.

www.santamargherita.com
In Italian - English option. Produces an excellent on-screen course about every aspect of wine. Compact and thorough.

www.domusvini.it
Family-run business that supplies restaurants and public in Bologna and Florence. Online cellars. Great guide to how prices really compare at home in Italy (prepare for a few shocks!).

www.wineshop.it
In Italian - English option. Loads of reference and shopping basket (based in Bergamo). Lengthy list for most regions.

www.eno.it
Slowish site, but worth the wait. Loads of reference, events, cellars open etc.

www.lavinium.com
In Italian - English option. Great coverage of wines and producers. Packed with information with a bang-up-to-date reputation. Image intensive, though, so don’t try it in a hurry.
