Italy map
THE extraordinary thing about Italy is that every single region produces wine ... and all worth sampling. The range is vast, many grape varieties used unique and the prices probably the best value in Europe.
This section doesn’t profess to be a complete guide to every wine and thousands of producers (there are plenty of wine books around to do that; see the wine library page), but what it IS is a guide to particular wines and producers to look for.
TO use this section, simply click whichever area or region you want in the link panel on the left. I have divided the country into five fairly logical areas, each with several regions as listed below:
NORTH WEST: Valle d’Aosta, Piemonte, Lombardia, Liguria. NORTH EAST: Trentino, Friuli, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna. CENTRAL: Toscana, Umbria, Marche, Lazio, Abruzzo. SOUTH: Molise, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria. THE ISLANDS: Sardegna, Sicilia.
