Pregnancy Massage | Infant Massage
Massage during pregnancy differs from a regular massage in a couple of ways. The biggest difference is that the person receiving the massage is pregnant, therefore knowledge of pregnancy and the anatomy of a pregnant woman are very important. Positioning during a massage is critical to the safety and well-being of both the mother and the baby she is carrying. There are also parts of the body that should not be massaged.
Pregnancy massage has been found to reduce stress, decrease swelling in the arms and legs, and relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints.
Not only can massage be physically beneficial, but the human touch can be comforting and provide emotional support during pregnancy.
I am a mother to four children and full understand what your body is going through. I have had a natural hospital birth with my first, and home birth with my second and a C-Section with my twin girls. I have had a massage therapist that I trust with me during each delivery. Trust me, having my husband there is great, but he just doesn't understand how to relieve pain during a contraction. Rubbing my back and holding my hand is the loving support that I need from my husband. Trained hands in pregnancy massage is what I NEEDED to get through this. :)
I offer different pregnancy massage packages based on your specific needs. I look at how many weeks you have to go until delivery, if you would like me to be present at the birth, and if you would like to learn infant massage after the baby is born. I can ad to your package as we keep going with your sessions. After your delivery, you may want to ad a few gentle touch massages to help you sleep at night. Call me for more information. I would want to make sure that you have had at least one massage with me before we move forward with planning your massage package.
