I. DEITY OF JESUS Matthew 1:20-23

A. Jesus is the God-man, Fully God and Fully human.

B. Jesus is the incarnation of God on earth.

C. Jesus was born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit.

 

II. PURPOSE OF JESUS John 3:13-18

A. Jesus is God’s son who came from heaven.

B. Jesus came to save the world from sin.

C. Belief in Jesus as the Son of God is necessary for salvation.

 

III. HEART OF JESUS John 4:1-26

A. Jesus broke barriers in reaching out to the Samaritan women.

B. Jesus promised “living water” (Holy Spirit) for eternal life.

C. The heart of Jesus is shown by his compassion, mercy, and love.

 

IV. TESTIMONIES OF JESUS John 5:36-40

A. John testified that Jesus was the Son of God. (Ref. John 1:29, 3:31-36)

B. Jesus’ works, words, and miracles testify to His Deity.

C. God the Father testified to the divinity of Jesus. (Ref. John 3:17, Matthew 17:5)

D. The scriptures testify that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. (Ref. John 20:31)

 

V. HUMANITY OF JESUS Hebrews 2:9-18

A. God became human also to bring salvation to humanity.

B. Jesus was tempted in every way (Ref Hebrews 4:15)

C. Jesus destroyed the power of death.

 

VI. LOVE OF GOD I John 3:9-16

A. Jesus is the demonstration of God’s love for the world.

B. God loved us first; therefore we should love God and one another.

 

VII. JESUS IS LORD Philippians 2:5-11

A. Confession of faith – “Jesus is Lord”

B. Jesus is the nature of God. The Trinity of God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

C. Jesus became Lord by obedience to God and servanthood.

 

CONCLUSION:

1. Jesus is fully God (divine) and fully man (human)

2. Jesus is the Son of God.

3. Jesus is the Savior of the World.

4. Jesus is Lord
