Where Do You Live- Teacher's Notes

This is a circle song.Give each child a country card (preferably with a magnet) with that country's national flag, or a person in national costume, or a famous location of that country (say, Ayer's Rock in australia.) Each child in turn stands in the centre of the circle and answers the question according to their card. When you get to "Make a circle of light..." everyone dances round. You can have a big satellite poster of the earth or a world map on the whiteboard, so the kids can then stick on their card. After a while you can add to the questions, keeping the refrain to dance to: Where do you Live? I live in Japan. What do you eat? I eat rice and fish. What language do you speak? I speak Japanese etc.
