Two Poops on the Ground- Teacher's Notes

To teach this I have a green ninja scroll and tell the kids I'll teach them green ninja magic. I made the scroll with old calendar pages stuck together and rolled round a paper towel roll, tied shut with green ribbon. My two boys loved helping me paint the numbers and the leaves, bugs and birds in more and more glorious colours. Unroll slowly as you sing and pause to pose (squat?!) dramatically for the "two poops on the ground" part - all the kids squeal with delight.

The kids love to talk about other food chains and bio-systems - make posters!

Visit a local sewage plant, or make compost together.
