Artist's Statement

I paint as a form of meditation.

When I paint the details of daily life fade away. I choose watercolors and oils to capture the natural world, an isolated swamp, an old maple shielding a rustic barn or standing water in a field at dawn.

These simple images allow me to play with shape, color and light.

I constantly strive to challenge myself to create simple expressive paintings that strike an emotional cord in the viewer
