This is the bed in the hotel room. It was one of those wicked high antique beds that I had to climb up on in a less than graceful way.
100_1198.JPG
We had our own jakuzi. It was nice but very loud. The neighbors must have thought we were having way more fun than we were.
100_1200.JPG
They also had fancy robes for us to wear after the jakuzi.
100_1199.JPG
They must have known we were coming -- that is a Roger Tory Peterson blue jay print hanging in our room.

Our first night, we took a horse drawn carriage ride around the town. We learned all about Henry Flagler who, despite being very very very rich, was a bit of a twit.
100_1186.JPG
Us, looking all romantic and stuff on the carriage ride. The white mansion behind us in the middle is where we stayed, The Casablanca Inn.
100_1187.JPG
Saturday, we decided to take an Olde Towne Trolleye ridee arounde towne. Here is David in front of a church that is famous but I have already forgotten why. I think Flagler built it.
100_1189.JPG
We went to the Lightner museum, which is in an old casino also built by Flagler. This picture is actually a window box -- those are real dead stuffed Gambel's quail. We ate lunch in what used to be the largest indoor swimming pool in the world, which was in the museum/casino.
100_1190.JPG
This rocking chair was in the musuem. David wants one just like it.
100_1191.JPG
This is the 4-masted schooner that we took a "romantic sunset cruise" on. There were about 45 other people on board, so I'm not sure how romatic one could get, although a couple did get engaged on board.
100_1192.JPG
Another view of the boat.
100_1193.JPG
Awww, aren't we nauseatingly cute?
100_1194.JPG
So, the deal with this cross: When we were on the horse-drawn carriage trip the night before, the driver was carrying on and on and on about this cross. And I said, "where???" I never saw the stupid thing. Well, when we were out on the water, it was just a tad easier to see. It's only something like 380 feet afterall.
100_1195.JPG
Another view.
100_1201.JPG
We finished up our trip at the St. Augustine Aligator Farm. These are bunch of baby aligators getting snuggly.
100_1202.JPG
This is a rare albino aligator, found in Louisiana. He looks fake, but is real.
100_1203.JPG
More aligators. There are 23 different species of crocodilians, this park has examples of them all.
100_1205.JPG
I can't remember what this guy was called so I will say he's a freaky-blue-brow south American jay. Dang, David looked it up and says it's a Flush-Crested Jay. I like my name better.
100_1206.JPG
David says this is a "red-knobbed thing"
100_1207.JPG
Another "red-knobbed thing"
100_1208.JPG
This is a Gharial. It's like an aligator with a long skinny snout and teeth like Austin Powers.
100_1209.JPG
Horn-billed something or other.
100_1210.JPG
The horn-billed again.
100_1211.JPG
I can't remember what he was, so I will call him a Photogenic Horn Billed Poser.
100_1212.JPG
Another species of horn bill.
100_1213.JPG
Baby wood ducks. Awwwww.
100_1214.JPG
Baby wood ducks and their mom.
100_1215.JPG
A juvenile wood duck, trying to hide from the nut with the camera.
100_1216.JPG
Momma and baby wood duck again.
100_1217.JPG
Momma and both baby wood ducks.
