Description:
The Columbia 22 is a light displacement midget ocean racer that sleeps 4, features a long waterline, large self-bailing cockpit, fin keel and spade rudder. Her high freeboard and ballast to displacement ratio keep her stiff and dry.

The Mother Goose II is an extremely clean, well-rigged boat. Other than a trip to Catalina Island, she is a fresh water boat. She has complete new cabin cushions ($1300), a Johnson 8 HP outboard new in 2001 ($1800), life lines, new bimini and sail cover ($550), new hatch covers, new wiring with fuse box, a new mast raise system ($300), VHF Radio, mast head wind indicator and VHF antenna, and new compass and battery. She features a newly constructed custom trailer, with new tires, wheel bearings, and spare tire. The gel coat is fresh. The boat is ready to trailer over the road to the shores of California. The current owners have invested over $11,000 in beautifully restoring this classic Columbia 22.
Accommodations:
The Columbia 22 has been referred to as one of the "largest" 22's of her time. With her broad beam, deep hull, and excellent design, she has a full 8 foot cockpit, seating six adults comfortably, a full size spacious "V" Berth in the forward cabin, and two full length quarter berths in the main cabin. She has a dinette table which folds down to make up the port quarter berth. She is comfortable for a couple for weekend overnights, or even a week on board. Her current owners spent a week around Catalina Island on board in 2002.
Performance:
The Columbia 22 with her considerable ballast and deep keel likes to sail upright and tall. The Columbia is well balanced with no weather helm tendencies to about 15 knots of wind. She sails beautifully and has no bad habits. Quite fast for her age, she regularly passes up Catalina 25's! Roller reefing on the main makes it easy to reef down as winds increase past 15 knots. She is safe and secure and suitable for coastal ocean sailing and island hopping in Southern California waters. She visited Catalina Island in 2002!
Trailer:
Custom HD trailer designed for over the road travel, featuring new tires, new bearings, spare bearings, tire storage covers, new spare tire and wheel, mast jig system for transport, 50' _ inch launch line, wheel chocks, and bearing buddies. This is a clean custom trailer.
