While the "Glory Days" is the story of the decade from 1988 to 1998, this is not to imply that Wahoo basketball since 1998 is somehow second rate. But the 1998 team was the last to claim a championship. The fact that the Warriors have not accomplished that goal in more than ten years emphasizes the achievements of those teams from 1988 to 1998. Wahoo basketball has continued as a successful program both under Coach Watton and Coach Scheef. A Watton coached team made the State Tournament in 2000 and Coach Scheef took the 2007 team to state. The 2001 and 2008 teams were the only two not to finish in the top 10 and all have won 15 or more games.

| The 2009 Wahoo team completed their season with a winning record, finishing 12 - 10. The Warriors nearly made the District final, losing to Wahoo Neumann by only four points. They would have played North Bend, a team that barely beat them the last week of the season -- the Warriors were very close to another state tournament trip. This was the 24th consecutive winning season for the Wahoo boys basketball team. |
