Fairbairn/Sykes Commando Stiletto, Australian Pattern

In the vast array of Fairbairn/Sykes style daggers it's easy to get overwelmed by the wealth of variations, first pattern, second pattern, roped, ribbed and knurled grips. It's enough to make your eyes glaze over. In the midst of this huge assortment there exist a few types that are more suited to my style of manufacture than the brass handled British examples which were largely machine shop products.
The Australian version of the Commando dagger was manufactured by Gregory Steel Products in Melbourne and Whittingslowe of Adelaide. It was generally longer (7 1/2" blade) and more tapered than its British counterparts and was handled either in cast zinc/aluminum alloy or wood with the tang being peened over at the pommel.
Later, I plan to add a cast handle version of my own, but at present I'm offering this knife with a handle of turned pearwood, a double-edged blade of file steel 7 5/8" long. The cowhide sheath is in the Gregsteel style and, like the originals, has extra holes punched to allow some flexibility in attaching it to ones equipment.
The blade is left bright as were the Gregsteel originals. The Whittingslowe blades were blackened which is also available at no extra cost.
