What is Vertical Memory?

In researching a name for my consulting company, I wanted to incorporate the goal of new memory research and development - providing a unified memory that provides the best attributes of today's leading memory technology - DRAM, Flash, and Magnetic Memory in one device. Such a memory would need approach zero ns read/write speed and use almost no storage cell area, truely a memory beyond space and time.

I found a web reference to the Zen concept of life and death - Tosotsu's 3 Barriers that describes a place with no coming or going, a place beyond life and death. They describe four levels of memory - mechanical, logical, moral, and vertical. Vertical memory transcends space & time. This seemed a fitting name to the memory technologists goal - to achieve Vertical Memory.
