That's just not right. In summary, I thoroughly enjoyed making this tree. I've met a few other folks interested in bottle trees and they shared their experiences and challenges with me. It's definately a conversation piece; my teenage daughter's friends even like it. Research was also fun, not only did I gain knowledge of the origins of the bottle tree, I also learned about other Southern folk traditions such as painting window sills blue and sweeping the yard. Growing up in the South, I saw alot of this but never knew why it was done. But then, I never asked. If you have any questions or comments, please drop me a line. And please if you have made a bottle tree and would like it displayed here by all means send a pic to me. |
