Jerry Barnard has been an avid amateur photographer for well over half a century. He started taking and developing his own black & white photos in the 1930s as a reporter for his college newspaper. One of the high points of this time was when Hollywood came to Pineville, Missouri in the summer of 1938 for the filming of Jesse James. Jerry covered the story for his paper and was able to get some terrific shots of Tyrone Power, Henry Fonda, and John Carradine as they waited between takes! Jerry and his wife Jane always loved to travel, and spent many decades exploring the highways and byways of the American West. They always kept an eye out for interesting shots, from the majestic to the whimsical. Jerry was born in the small town of Oswego, Kansas, and has spent most of his life there. He was the prestident of the First National Bank of Oswego for many years, and has always been active in the community. He served two terms as Mayor and has also served as Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce. He is currently President of the Oswego Historical Society as well as the President of Winfield Productions, Inc. |
