A member of the Society requested that the Newsletters be numbered, so Editor Charles Barnard numbered this as the fourth in the year, making the January Newsletter number 1. The numbering continued in years to follow.

Malcolm Simmons reports a BBC programme in which Peter Pears spoke and sang about British composers influenced by Delius.

Mr Threlfall thanked Mr Tall for telling him that A Village Romeo & Juliet was on sale at Boosey & Hawkes for 70 shillings.
