Well, I admit it; I love to write. I used to write science-fiction when I was younger, but I'd say that on the whole it wasn't that good. Since I've started to write fantasy (admittedly a related genre), I think my writings has improved, though more from experience than the change in genre. Some things I write for myself (as most people do), and others I write almost purely for the entertainment of others. I hope you enjoy whatever you choose to read.
Contrary to what it would be intelligent for me to do, none of these writings are dated. However, they should be arranged from top to bottom starting with the most recent.
Stories
· I dunno what to say. It's about... James and Nichole. Wait, that's right, all my stories are about James and Nichole. Whatever, dude, just go read it. It's a romance, but I'd venture not as sappy as some of the others. This story is distinctly still in a first-draft state, but it's probably going to stay that way.
· This story concept came to me while reading "Paradise Lost"... It's kind of interesting, but might offend you if you are staunchly religious of just about any persuasion. Note: This is a revised version of the story "Duality".
· This is not a short story -- it's a novella. And that's fine and well... if your in to that kind of thing. This story is about two people who leave their own world, and find the alternative not much better.
· A guy loses his memory. Hilarity ensues. ...Or not.
· A heroic journey myth I wrote as a class assignment. Somehow my two-to-five page myth turned out as ten. Go figure. This is a comedy, but not a very extreme one.
· Almost the antithesis to
though a much shorter story. It could almost even be thought of a Part Two of the story of Chris' story, though the main character in "Golden Threads" is named James. It doesn't matter, all my leading male characters are really the same person. :P
· This is a fairly simple story about a high-school relationship. It gets a little "fantastic" at the end, but what happens is open to interpretation. The only tragedy I've written so far.
· Probably an over-complex story above love overcoming obstacles.
or
· The title of this story comes a jazz song called "How High the Moon?", the version I've heard preformed by Ella Fitzgerald. Specifically, the lyrics, "Somewhere there's Heaven/ It's where you are" gave me the idea for this. This story is one of my personal favorites because of the emotion in it.
· This is really only the first story in what [eventually] become a three-story series. This was originally written to impress my ex-girlfriend, before we had gone out. See, guys, it's not chocolate, it's stories (preferably romantic ones). That's the secret. Then again... hmmm... she is my... ex-girlfriend... Well, I guess you can stick with chocolate.
Vignettes
· A tale of when the world was young? Not yet. This vignette may eventually be turned into a story.
· This started as purely a vignette and grew longer because I was thinking of a possible plot to turn it into a full story. This probably wont happen.
· I had planed to use this as a basis for a D&D I was designing, but ended up going a different route.
· Hmmm. More of a pathetic documentary than a work of fiction. :P
· Based on part of a D&D game. My character had a bit of a thing for the girl, but they were forced into the duel.
· It's got fairies! Just, mmm, ignore the last line.
· It's got a vampire. More than one actually, but that would only matter if there was a larger plot -- which there isn't.
Poetry
The deal is... I don't really like my poetry. So while I have written a goodly amount of it, there is scant available to the masses who I know [don't] throng to this web site. Perhaps more will be added as I write it, but so far nothing written before April of 2002 has been posted, any probably nothing before then ever will be posted.
· "Rocky Horror Picture Show" freaks calm down, it's not that particular creature of the night. Some of the themes are shared though.
Rants
· The problem: Clouds are excessively hard to describe in writing. Solution? Inquire within.
