Dr. David James Randolph Professor in Residence of Communications The Center for the Arts, Religion and Education at the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, California
Dr. David James Randolph is in the vanguard of those working for the renewal of religion and has been featured by the NBC TV Today Show, the National Radio Pulpit, the New York Times, the New York Post and other media.
Dr. Randolph is known internationally as a minister and educator who has preached in churches large and small across the United States, England and Scandinavia, and taught at Drew University, Princeton Theological Seminary, Union Theological Seminary in New York and elsewhere. He now teaches at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California.
Known for his outreach ministry on the streets of New York City and the beaches of New Jersey, Dr. Randolph is also recognized by scholars for his The Renewal of Preaching which introduced the New Homiletic and has been called "exceedingly important" and "foundational" to the revolution in contemporary preaching.
Dr. Randolph was Senior Minister of Christ Church United Methodist in New York City from 1975 to1987 and in Babylon, New York from 1987 to 1999. Earlier he was Head of the National Worship Office for United Methodism. Dr. Randolph has served churches in Delaware and Massachussets. He studied at the Universities of Delaware (B.A), Drew (M. Div.), Yeshiva (M.S.W.), Boston (Ph.D.) and Harvard (Postgraduate).
