We are urgently recruiting short-term missioners for 2008 Lu-Kang Mission.  Thank to the merciful Lord and the dedication of many pastors, brothers and sisters, we are entering the 2nd year of the 5-year commitment following the success of 2007 mission.
 
Just to give you a glance at the 2007 mission. Last year, we introduced Jesus Christ to 136 children attending the one-week English Camp, many prayed to Jesus Christ the first time in their lives. (Link).

The families of the children were very open to us. Over 60 families requested our home visits in the enrollment forms but sadly we could not visit them because of our limited capacity and extremely busy schedule.  Thank to faithfulness of Edward, Elsie, Wayne, and others, regardless their physical fatigues, they managed to visit 2 families in the last evening of the mission and sowed the seeds of Jesus Christ. 
 
This year, in addition to the continuation of Children English Summer Camp, we expect to open a small adult class so the adults also have a chance to know Jesus Christ as they attend the English class.  There are less than 0.2% of christians out of the approx. 150,000 population in the great Lu-Kang areas. The harvest field needs workers, so I sincerely ask you to take part in this mission of saving souls.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
9. 有主的使者站在他們旁邊、主的榮光四面照著他們．牧羊的人就甚懼怕。 
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
10. 那天使對他們說、不要懼怕、我報給你們大喜的信息、是關乎萬民的． 
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

Ephesians 5
 1Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
 3But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. 4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a man is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[a] 6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7Therefore do not be partners with them.
 8For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9(for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10and find out what pleases the Lord. 11Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, 14for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:
"Wake up, O sleeper, 
 rise from the dead, 
and Christ will shine on you."
 15Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. 18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
 21Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
Wives and Husbands
 22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
 25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. 11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
12 The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.
13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
14 "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—
15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.

Thanksgiving for the Thessalonians' Faith
2We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. 3We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

4For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, 5because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. 6You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. 7And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. 8The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, 9for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

Corinthians 2:16, "But we have the mind of Christ."

1 Corinthians 2
1When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.[a] 2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, 5so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.
Wisdom From the Spirit
6We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 8None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9However, as it is written:
"No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him"[b]— 10but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.[c] 14The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
16"For who has known the mind of the Lord
that he may instruct him?"[d] But we have the mind of Christ.

One in Christ

1 那 時 ， 天 國 好 比 十 個 童 女 拿 著 燈 出 去 迎 接 新 郎 。
 2 其 中 有 五 個 是 愚 拙 的 ， 五 個 是 聰 明 的 。
 3 愚 拙 的 拿 著 燈 ， 卻 不 預 備 油 ；
 4 聰 明 的 拿 著 燈 ， 又 預 備 油 在 器 皿 裡 。
 5 新 郎 遲 延 的 時 候 ， 他 們 都 打 盹 ， 睡 著 了 。
 6 半 夜 有 人 喊 著 說 ： 新 郎 來 了 ， 你 們 出 來 迎 接 他 ！

 32 萬 民 都 要 聚 集 在 他 面 前 。 他 要 把 他 們 分 別 出 來 ， 好 像 牧 羊 的 分 別 綿 羊 山 羊 一 般 ，
 33 把 綿 羊 安 置 在 右 邊 ， 山 羊 在 左 邊 。
 34 於 是 王 要 向 那 右 邊 的 說 ： 你 們 這 蒙 我 父 賜 福 的 ， 可 來 承 受 那 創 世 以 來 為 你 們 所 預 備 的 國 ；

Matthew 25
The Parable of the Ten Virgins
 1"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
 6"At midnight the cry rang out: 'Here's the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!'
 7"Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8The foolish ones said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.'
 9" 'No,' they replied, 'there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.'
 10"But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
 11"Later the others also came. 'Sir! Sir!' they said. 'Open the door for us!'
 12"But he replied, 'I tell you the truth, I don't know you.'
 13"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
The Parable of the Talents
 14"Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. 15To one he gave five talents[a] of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. 17So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. 18But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.
 19"After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.'
 21"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
 22"The man with the two talents also came. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.'
 23"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
 24"Then the man who had received the one talent came. 'Master,' he said, 'I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.'
 26"His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
 28" 'Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. 29For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 30And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

The Sheep and the Goats
 31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
 34"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
 37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
 40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
 41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
 44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
 45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
 46"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

1 Corinthians 13
1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing. 4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. 1 我 若 能 說 萬 人 的 方 言 ， 並 天 使 的 話 語 ， 卻 沒 有 愛 ， 我 就 成 了 鳴 的 鑼 ， 響 的 鈸 一 般 。 2 我 若 有 先 知 講 道 之 能 ， 也 明 白 各 樣 的 奧 祕 ， 各 樣 的 知 識 ， 而 且 有 全 備 的 信 ， 叫 我 能 夠 移 山 ， 卻 沒 有 愛 ， 我 就 算 不 得 甚 麼 。 3 我 若 將 所 有 的 賙 濟 窮 人 ， 又 捨 己 身 叫 人 焚 燒 ， 卻 沒 有 愛 ， 仍 然 與 我 無 益 。 4 愛 是 恆 久 忍 耐 ， 又 有 恩 慈 ； 愛 是 不 嫉 妒 ； 愛 是 不 自 誇 ， 不 張 狂 ， 5 不 做 害 羞 的 事 ， 不 求 自 己 的 益 處 ， 不 輕 易 發 怒 ， 不 計 算 人 的 惡 ， 6 不 喜 歡 不 義 ， 只 喜 歡 真 理 ； 7 凡 事 包 容 ， 凡 事 相 信 ， 凡 事 盼 望 ， 凡 事 忍 耐 。 8 愛 是 永 不 止 息 。 先 知 講 道 之 能 終 必 歸 於 無 有 ； 說 方 言 之 能 終 必 停 止 ； 知 識 也 終 必 歸 於 無 有 。 9 我 們 現 在 所 知 道 的 有 限 ， 先 知 所 講 的 也 有 限 ， 10 等 那 完 全 的 來 到 ， 這 有 限 的 必 歸 於 無 有 了 。 11 我 作 孩 子 的 時 候 ， 話 語 像 孩 子 ， 心 思 像 孩 子 ， 意 念 像 孩 子 ， 既 成 了 人 ， 就 把 孩 子 的 事 丟 棄 了 。 12 我 們 如 今 彷 彿 對 著 鏡 子 觀 看 ， 糢 糊 不 清 （ 原 文 作 ： 如 同 猜 謎 ） ； 到 那 時 就 要 面 對 面 了 。 我 如 今 所 知 道 的 有 限 ， 到 那 時 就 全 知 道 ， 如 同 主 知 道 我 一 樣 。 13 如 今 常 存 的 有 信 ， 有 望 ， 有 愛 這 三 樣 ， 其 中 最 大 的 是 愛。]]>
