The Bells

A short film written by David Hevey and Bet Balcombe
Directed by David Hevey
On a cold summers day a bag lady and a wino, and two young teenagers, meet in separate places in a churchyard as a church wedding is heard. As the old couple get closer & closer through cans of drink and talk of families and children long since gone, so the young couple are thrown apart because of a baby neither planned nor wanted. The film is a chilling and tragicomic slice of life.
The Bells premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and it has been screened at the Prince Charles Cinema, Cardiff Screen Festival, Clermont-Ferrand and many others.
