Website Introduction & Guide

The family website is a new way for you to communicate, spread news, share photos, watch movies, listen to music & words, and learn about those we care about, those with whom we share lives, values and family. For the past three years I've been putting together the beginning of what I hope & trust will become an ever enlarging and expanding source of pride, information and enjoyment descendants of my great grandparents: Anna Byberg, her 1st & 2nd husbands, Lars Christopherson & Hans Goulson; Ernst & Henrietta Nitz, August & Hedwig Loose, Abraham & Karen Johnson.

Anna Byberg's first husband, Lars Christopherson, died tragically of scarlet fever in 1878. Shortly after the death of Lars, Anna married Hans Goulson who became the father to all of Anna's 10 surviving children (scarlet fever had also claimed two of Lars's five children: his oldest, Ludwig, and youngest, Julius). Because we can all trace our genes and roots back to Anna, we really should be thinking of ourselves as Byberg's, but because traditionally we all adopt our father's surname, and because Lars Christopherson's children were raised by Hans Goulson (Aaron was 5, Lena was 7 & Sophie was 3 when birth-father Lars died), Anna's descendents have come to share the family name of Goulson rather than Christopherson or Byberg.

The site you have entered is meant to be shared by all descendents of David Nitz's eight great grandparents. I have created and will maintain this website indefinitely. Today it contains media and materials limited to what I have acquired, created myself, or been given by others. However, my hope is that my work will prove to be a catalyst for all Christoperson/Byberg/Goulson, Loose, Nitz & Johnson cousins to join in the process of expanding and maintaining the site in perpetuity.

Please accept my humble apology if you or your family's media have at this time, been overlooked or omitted. That will change as soon as you provide media and material for me to add to the site. That is the only way the site will grow and become self-perpetuating. I also anticipate and welcome your constructive criticism regarding the site's content and organization. I trust that the website will help make a happier, more informative and fun-filled relationship for you with all the other members of this family.
