NYIT Energy Conference, June 5th

New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) is hosting its fourth annual energy conference “Innovative Technologies and Green Collar Careers”. The conference will be on Friday, June 5, 2009 from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm at the de Seversky Center on the Old Westbury Campus of NYIT. Continuing Education Credits:
Please note, participants may, at no extra charge, also receive five continuing education hours applicable to re-registration as a professional engineer or registered architect. Costs: Conference registration fees are $75 prior to May 29; $85 thereafter. Special discounted rates are available for not-for-profit agencies and NYIT faculty and staff members ($50); and for students and alumni ($25). A continental breakfast and buffet luncheon are included.
Green jobs comprise one of the nation's fastest-growing job segments - estimated at accounting for 10 percent of new jobs in the next 20 years. Among the conference speakers is economist Luke Tilley of IHS Global Insight, who will present the results of his recent study for the U.S. Conference of Mayors that forecasts that the New York metropolitan area will add 172,950 green jobs by the year 2030.
