Pair o' Guys Lost

Trevino

A chancellor known as Trevino
Was told that he really should go
Though only just hired
He soon will be fired
For doing his job far too slow

Flushed down toilet

The previous chancellor, Walter
Came forward and swore on the altar
The enrollment decline
Was no fault of mine
When I left, the trend didn't falter

Wendler

Crown
Poshard
An interim provost named Don
Took the work of the chancellor on
That wretched Poshard
Works me far too hard
But if I complain I too could be gone

Saluki Dictator, King Glenn
Fired Wendler, Trevino and then
The board of trustees
Fell onto their knees
And praised him again and again
blue ribbon

The blue-ribbon gang sang their song
Super-Glenn can never do wrong
Nothing's too hard
For King Poshard
Just believe and we'll all get along!

Brad Cole Placed on Administrative Leave by President Poshard

"It is with deep personal regret, but also with a deeper sense of obligation to the students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of Southern Illinois University Carbondale that, in fulfilling the full measure of the responsibilities of this office, I have placed Carbondale Mayor Brad Cole on administrative leave.”

Brad Cole

“Brad’s mission was to increase sales tax and turn over $20M to SIU for its new football stadium. As you know, we need the $20M and we need it now. It hasn't worked out. I regret it. It's the last thing I wanted to happen. We couldn't have known things eight to nine months ago as we know them today. But Brad just hasn’t coughed up the loot fast enough.

Poshard said Brad underwent a thorough orientation with much time spent on reviewing the goals and objectives of "Southern at 150: Building Football Stadiums Through Commitment" that was unveiled in spring 2003 seeking to improve every aspect of athletics at SIU.
