Monster Discovered in Campus Lake!!!!!

This year the American counterpart to the Loch Ness Monster was sighted on the Carbondale Campus of Southern Illinois University. On the last day of October 2000, a colossal but indistinct brownish shape was seen looming through the mist by students smooching on the shore of Campus Lake. "Like, man it was real huge, like", said Tanya Twoshoes, whose love of the English language led her to enroll as a major in English literature. Her partner, Larry Lightweight, a grad student in rehabilitation, said, "I was just, like, staring into her eyes, like, when I heard this real loud noise, like real loud." Larry was so startled he looked round and saw a huge scaly coily horrible thing thrashing around in the lake. He isn't sure whether the Saluki Lake Monster is really brown or whether it was "just like smeared with mud and grunge" from the bottom of Campus Lake. Larry and Tanya stood petrified in horror as the monster lunged forward and gulped down their friends, two other couples. "Al didn't even look up, he was too busy sucking on Fluffy's tonsils when there was this ghastly slurping noise and they both just vanished into the monster's mouth," sobbed Tanya.

Monster Causes Power-Outage

The power-outage of late April shut down a third of the SIU campus. It was first blamed on a lightening strike. Then the story was that a snake had crawled in and shorted out a transformer. As can be seen in the photo above it was actually a tentacle from the Campus Lake Monster. Was Sally crippled by leaving a tentacle behind? No need to worry, lake monsters like Sally and the Loch Ness monster can renew their parts.
