Seaside Walk 11-20-03

A beautiful walk from the Empress Hotel, through Beacon Hill Park, past Mile Zero of the Trans Canada highway, along the coastal path, back to the harbour and the hotel.

Vancouver Island coastline in the distance Beautiful sun on the water Across the rocks Enjoying the view A great view Then all those steps to climb up Old trees washed on the rock beaches Fabulous natural tree sculptures Huge thick seaweed, 2" in diameter, looks like giant squid tentacles Old trees, big enough to have been used for dugout canoes So that's how branches grow out of the ring structure of a tree So many trees, yet so wonderfully little man made debris Back to the inner harbour The Empress Hotel across the harbour
