David Goody is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter who composes plaintive songs with a surreal and humourous edge. Simon Cowell selling his soul to the devil, the foibles of town planners and marrying an underachieving superhero are all typical subject lyrical matter, a mile away from the bland cliches of the stereotypical singer-songwriter. These are not novelty songs but traditional themes approached in original and contemporary ways.
Musically an 'everything bar the kitchen sink' process is employed. Slick processed beats and flowing synths are combined with guitars, bass, harmonica, xaphoon, melodica and ukulele to produce a distinctive sound that is moody and emotive. Three homemade CDs have been produced; 'Pop Culure Ballads', 'The Abridged Audio Guide To Relationships', 'A Dozen Rippling Layers'.
