MY LINE (paternal) :: Emil Peterson, son of Theodor Peterson and Christina Pilstrom, married Nellie Sundberg

I. Brief Biography and Ancestry (updated 16 March 2006)
My great-great grandfather, Theodore PETERSON, found as Theodor PETTERSSON in Sweden, was born 24 December 1841 in Duseborg, Gammalkil församling (församling=parish), Östergötlands Län (Län=county), Sweden to Petter Magnus SVENSSON and Maria LARSDOTTER. On 15 April 1865, Theodor married Christina Johanna PILSTROM, daughter of Anders Fredrik PIHLSTROM and Stina PERSDOTTER in Gammalkil, Östergötlands län, Sweden. In 1868 they emigrated from Sweden to Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa, and around 1872 they moved from there to the west side of Burt County, Nebraska. Theodor died 19 February 1915 in Oakland, Burt County, Nebraska.  The research on Theodor's ancestors is the work of someone else, and I have not had the opportunity to verify it.  Some of the place names are confusing and questionable, as I do not know if they are towns or parishes.

Petter Magnus SVENSSON, my great-great-great grandfather, was born 31 October 1805 in Slattmo, Oppeby, Ostergotland, Sweden to Sven JOHANSSON and Catharina OLOFSDOTTER. On 7 December 1828 in Kattilstad, Ostergotland, Sweden, Petter married Maria LARSDOTTER. Maria, who was born 28 January 1806 in Ommelsbo, Kjettilstad, Ostergotland, Sweden to Lars WADMAN and Brita Christina LARSDOTTER. , died on 25 December 1862 in Rosviken, Gammalkil, Ostergotland, Sweden. Petter died 13 October 1889 in Fattighuset, Gammalkil, Ostergotland, Sweden.

My 4th great grandfather, Sven JOHANSSON, was born 20 December 1776 at Broddarps, Barkeryd, Jonkopings lan, Smaland, Sweden to Johan SJOGREN and Lisken JONSDOTTER, and died 23 December 1844 at Fattigstugan, Hagerstad, Ostergotland, Sweden. Sven married Catharina OLOFSDOTTER on 6 October 1802 at Oppeby, Ostergotland, Sweden. Catharina was the daughter of Olof MANSSON and Stina PERSDOTTER, who was born 8 September 1775 at Kallsvik, Oppeby, Ostergotland, Sweden and died 18 May 1822 at Solberget, O. Vanga, Hagerstad, Ostergotland, Sweden. Petter married second, Maja Lisa PERSDOTTER on 5 January 1823 at Oppeby, Ostergotland, Sweden.

My 4th great grandfather, Lars WADMAN, was born 3 May 1774 at Horn, Ostergotland, Sweden to unknown parents, and died 25 September 1850 at Djursburg, Kattilstad, Ostergotland, Sweden. Lars married Brita Christina LARSDOTTER, daughter of Lars LJUNGSTROM and Maja SAMUELSDOTTER, on 8 November 1800 at Kattilstad, Ostergotland, Sweden. Brita was born 19 November 1780 at Vilebo, Kattilstad, Ostergotland, Sweden, and died 29 March 1867 at Djursburg, Kattilstad, Ostergotland, Sweden.

II. Other Researchers
Most of the work done on the ancestors of Theodor and Christina, plus a lot of the descendants, is from Merry Lloyd, a descendant of Theodor and Christina thru their daughter Clara, and Laurie Christoffersen, descended from Theodor and Christina thru their son Johan Theodore and Verlyn Erickson Morris, a descendant of Theodor and Christina thru their daughter Almida.
