After NHS I worked at Mass. Mutual Insurance Co. in Springfield in their General Accounting Office. Harvey and I married and I became a military wife for twelve years. Our last duty station before military retirement was Langley AFB in Hampton, VA. We loved being so close to the ocean, the mild climate, the lower taxes and the southern hospitality so we decided to become Virginians.
I am most proud of my family. We have three daughter who all live in our area. They have given us the greatest treasures of seven grandchildren. There are five boys and two girls; two are in college, two in high school and three in middle school. They all keep us moving and young. Harvey and I are both retired and keep busy doing volunteer work. It's a way of giving back, keeping our brains working and keeping the days straight. I am the volunteer secretary of our small historic church, Glebe Episcopal Church which was built in 1738.
I will miss seeing all of you at the reunion and hope that everyone has a wonderful time. It is a long drive to Northampton and we have driven there twice this summer. My Mom who is ninety-two this year had surgery after a stroke and is now living at Hampshire Care. My best wishes to all especially the gang from Williams Street School. |
