After Hamp High, I attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. In April of 1959, I married Lorraine Anderson. I graduated in May of '59 as an Electrical Engineer and as an Air Force 2nd Lieutenant. In 1970, I received an MSEE degree from Syracuse University.
From '59 to '63 I served in the AF at Keesler AFB, Biloxi Mississippi; Okino Erabu Shima (a remote island) in southern Japan; and Griffiss AFB in Rome, New York. In 1963, I took a civilian job with the AF in Rome doing research and development. In 1980, I was promoted to a branch manager position. I retired in 1996 after 37 years with the Air Force. Then I taught at local community colleges for a few years. It was a rewarding career, but how quickly the time passed!
Lorraine died in 1992 taking a big chunk out of my being with her. She and I had two children, Timothy and Gillian. Both are married and have moved independently to Horseheads, New York. In 2000, I moved to join them. I have two grandchildren, Emma and Elizabeth who are the light of my life. I live in a (relatively) new house that is great but way too big and has too much lawn. I love it. I've built several raised garden beds so I can ignore the lawn. I keep busy working on the computer and volunteering at church so I can procrastinate on the housework.
I look forward to seeing many friends at the reunion in October.
