NORTHAMPTON _ Richard W. Hodges, 57, of Ashfield, formerly of Northampton, died Thursday in The Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Born in Northampton, Oct. 3, 1937, he was the son of Ruth Hodges of Northampton and the late Willard Hodges. He attended Northampton schools, and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War era. Mr. Hodges had co-owned Hodges Plumbing and Heating in Northampton with his brother, Ronald Hodges of Northampton. He previously had been a Northampton police officer. Besides his mother and brother in Northampton, he leaves his wife, Helen (Bachman) Hodges; a son, Richard Hodges Jr. of Northampton; a stepson, Tony Jillson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four daughters, Heidi Pruzynski of Chesterfield, Deborah Roldan cq of Chicopee, Sandra Dufresne of Northampton, and Barbara Hodges of Holyoke; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Sober cq of Haverill; another brother, Jarvis Hodges of Haydenville; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
