Darren, Paul and I head out for a 2 day ride in the SB Forest.
Ahhh, the sites...
See what Darren saw and I mean?
No looking at the camera Paul (Amateur).
Paul broke a clutch cable. Darren was there to save the day.
Dinner out and about (Idyllwild).
A loving bunch.
The great views included snowy peaks.
Paul as he enters a stream.
Me as I exit a RIVER. The splash was yet to come.
My 1st solo ride was after a little rain. Had to watch for slides and puddles.
I crossed this river about a dozen times. I was soaked.
My damn mirrors again. Pretty though.
Lots of trees on this trail.
End of the line is Holy Jim trail. No motorcycles. Fascists.
Jimmy Lewis Racing School in Primm NV. Luch break.
Jimmy did this to all of us. He let go of me (of course he didn't tell me).
Day one evening ride. Ahh the sunset.
Day 2 was a 162 mile marathon (for me). 1st break was lunch at mile 60.
We stopped to play at the Dumont, CA dunes. That's Jimmy climbing on his GS1100.
I made up too. A view from above.
Just to prove it was me on the trip here is my bike in "The Middle of nowhere".
My new camera mount lets me take photos on the go! We enter the National Forest.
That's me under all that dirt and gear.
Discussing the damage - Darren had his 1st tip over today :(
He bounced right back. Hope your leg is OK.
Some moron tried to navigate Main Divide Rd in a car. We had to find a new exit.
All three amigos again!
I was slow as usual so Darren was nice to wait.
Minus one amigo. Kent was sick today. Don't go east if you want to stay healthy.
Mirror Mirror...
Looks like fun-> it was!
Lots to see... Islands in the distance and lake nearby.
I fly over this bad boy about once a month. Finally got a pic.
In the middle of nowhere we find... a helipad! Darren fixes his new GPS.
Start of the late January ride. My mirrors are famous.
Some of the best views yet!
A million miles from anywhere and we see a street sign. God bless America.
Plomar Observatory.
Snack break.
We're never short of views in SoCal.
Three Bikes. The start of the winter ride.
I just got back from NJ and the Xmas snow, you wuuda thunk I had enough.
Street Luge practice hill from a new perspective.
I get no respect.
I told you my mirrors were famous. The views are always spectacular.
I'm tired after 11 hours of riding, how about you guys?
We start with a hearty breakfast.
At a ridge of the Saddleback mountain range behind my home.
The towers on top of Santiago peak and the trail we take.
