Updates

Hey everyone, sorry I've been away for such a long time. The software I wrote to maintain this site still has some bugs in it. Not all the content has been shifted over yet either. I will be adding this over the coming weeks. Thanks for your patience.

  • thebroken.org is finally off hiatus and back in production. Kevin, Dan, Keith, Ramzi and I are coming back, and we've got some really awesome stuff in the pipeline.
  • Speaking of Double D he's launched a new blog of his own and a new tech website. He's currently gotten several awesome people lined up for articles, so far Roger Chang has been announced.
  • Got Search? I have. Added Google Search into the site, expect it to actually work in a couple of days when Google's Spider comes through and gets the site.
  • During my little hiatus, I built a CMS (Content Management System) in BASH, which is now used to create the HTML you see here.
  • I finally have a Moblog.

  • I've re-designed the layout to better fit people with different desktop resolutions. The previous design looked bad at anything under 1024x768 and anything larger than 1280x1024. Part of this was due to looking at the 30 inch Apple Cinema Display up close. If you haven't seen it do yourself a favor and go to your local apple store and see one - it's worth it!!
  • I hope you all had a spectacular Christmas and New Year, and that 2005 is filled with lot's of good things!
  • Some Links you might've missed

  • Looks like Alias gets a reset. I wonder what this means for the series.

Abrams continues to be adamant about the shows change of direction from last year: "There were flaws, but my gut is that at the end of the day, when you look back when we're in year--hopefully--six or seven, and you say 'Year three really went off track a little,' it'll feel more a sort of bump in this road and a necessary one... I'm thrilled we get to correct our course, and the reaction I'm getting so far is that people are all very enthusiastic about season four".

I personally think that one of the things that made Alias unique, was it's dramatic plot evolution. We'll see. "Authorized Personnel Only, Parts 1 & 2" airs on the 5th at 9/8C on ABC.

  • If you love mythology like I do, Pantheon.org is an excellent resource.
  • Still think Macs are more expensive than their PC equivalents? I did. That was until I found this site.
  • The website of the amazing Amir Salehi.
  • Also check out the weblog of Mike Matas, the co-founder of Delicious Monster
  • Those who know me, know I'm a huge Jennifer Garner fan (including having a 6' cardboard cut-out of her). Check out these featurettes from Apple Movies for her upcoming film 'Elektra'.
  • Via rebecca's pocket. Ever get stuck with writer's block? Here's a way to hack your way out of it.
  • Overheard in New York.com is a hysterical website, featuring random snippets of conversations that were overheard in New York City.
  • Cool Mac OS X Software

  • Imagine turning your computer into a virtual library. Turning your iSight, or any other digital camera into a barcode scanner, and armed with a copy of Delicious Monster's Delicious Library software package, you've got your own library availiable. This software will help you keep track of all you DVD's, Books and Music. I did a review of it recently, I gave it 4 out of 5.
  • I would be using Emacs, but since using Smultron a cocoa-based text editor for Mac OS X, I've found a new favorite.
  • Ever wanted to create those really awesome image mosaics? I'm not talking about the cheap ones done in Photoshop. If you've got Mac OS X, then you simply must try out MacOSaiX. This is an amazing piece of software.
  • I've been incredibly dissapoited with RSS offerings as of late, and now that I've become desperate to incorporate them into my daily life (I go to over 100 websites daily). Having initally been discouraged from Newsfire, I've grown to find it really really good. I virtually keep this thing on all the time.
