I began this site in early 2003 as an online journal to keep friends and family informed of my happenings when I moved to Long Island, New York. It quickly became a more tradtional weblog, and became the breadcrumbs of my journies on the internet. This website was built and is maintained on my 12" Apple Powerbook G4. The site is automatically generated by Xblog, my Bash Shell Script. Both Xblog and the content on this website are edited and maintained using Smultron. The logo was created in Adobe Illustrator and was processed with Adobe Photoshop.

The name dark lotus, was created by me back in 1998 when writing a story. The dark lotus was essentially the character that represented all the evil in the world.

About Me

My name is Robert Padbury, and this is my website dark-lotus.net. Originally from Melbourne, Australia I currently live in San Francisco where I am getting a degree in Videogame Art and Design from the Art Institute of California - San Francisco.

I was a texture artist for the Game Production Club at Ai, working on textures for [Project Utopia].

I was employed by my high school when I graduated, doing graphic design, evil telemarketing and 3D architechtural visualisation.

Director of Public Relations for the AiCAsf Student SIGGRAPH chapter, I work with the chapter to bring in professional artists from companies like Pixar, PDI Dreamworks, ILM, Weta Digital and Electronic Arts.

I worked as a freelance journalist for the teen mac website TheMacMind.
