Our class is keypaling with a 6 year old class in Malaysia. The purpose of our project is to foster tolerance and understanding of cultures other than our own. This project provides authentic opportunities for writing by providing the students with a real audience. We will be comparing the ways we are the same and the ways we are different through photos, illustrations, stories, movies and email messages. Keep checking back for project updates.
The goals of this project are:
1) to increase achievement of early emergent kindergarten &
1st grade students through activities that emphasize parents' roles as
learners as well as supporters of their children's education.
2) to provide opportunities for parents for exploration and
practice
of new understanding about literacy learning with their children in a
supportive
and nurturing environment.
The purpose of this project is to help teachers and parents of children in grades kindergarten through fourth more effectively use communication technology to improve children's reading and writing.
