 Crazy ride with Doug.

Doug and I rode on sunday.  It was one of the crazier rides I have done in a while.

Here is a quote from Doug:

Doug Swanson

Just got back from a super sketchy ride with Dano. Only crashed once. Craziest thing ever in Chanhasssen. A guy started heading at us from the other lane. Like straight at us. We jumped into the snowbank. All these cars stopped to see if we were ok. Then a cop saw us and we pointed him at the car. Next thing we know the guy takes off. Cop cars start coming from everywhere. I assume the guy is now in jail somewhere.on Sunday

 mtbing

Doug and I went and pedaled around leb hills yesterday.  Pugsleys seem to be the best way to ride there.  I do not have a pugsley.  I started with way to much air in my tires, and could hardly even move.  Slowly I got my pressure to be manageable an has able to ride.   The trail was like riding on a wire with massive concentration.  If you got off the pugsley track, you would sink in a pretty much endo.  I crashed close to 30 times.

Here is a photo I took after I crashed and Doug was coming back around.  Damn, I wasn't quick enough!

Overall it was pretty fun, but a pretty frustrating experience.

 Blog isn't dead.

Starting to figure things out for 2010, what races I am thinking about doing.  Started riding the bike some.  Pedaled down and saw the ice race and watch Hollywood, Chucker, Death Rider.  Saw Timmer, Big Blondie, MattA, Red Lantern.  The legs on the pedals have pretty good feeling right now, but it is Jan, and I am know I couldn't have been racing right now!   First Team Event in a Secret Location is happening sometime soon.  Haven't yet made it to blue house this year, but think saturday looks a good day for it.  Too bad Matt has pinewood derby.

Rode with Jesse and Josh for a brief time last saturday.  Skied some, but my body isnt jiving too good with those motions.   I'd rather pedal.  I have ridden the trainer some even.  That is against my ideas, but sometimes that is what has to be done.  New stuff on the way.  Big things happening this year for Grandstay.

Tarmac Pro SL SRAM

FROM THE SPRING CLASSICS to the Grand Tours, the Tarmac has proven itself to be the professional rider's bike of choice. A world championship and a Tour de France green jersey lend proof to our claim that no frame is lighter and stiffer.1x1.gif

  • The scientifically proven Body Geometry ToupĂ©, with carbon reinforced base and hollow Ti rails, is easy on your soft parts.
  • The Pro SL seatpost uses our FACT carbon construction for lightweight strength. The integrated Zertz insert absorbs energy-robbing vibrations.
  • The Tarmac Pro SL, built with FACT 10r carbon using our FACT IS construction, features our compact race design with an oversized BB. The result is a supremely lightweight, incredibly efficient frame.
  • The Specialized FACT Pro carbon crankset provides incredible pedaling efficiency, and mates perfectly with the oversized BB of the Tarmac Pro SL frame.
  • The 3D-forged Pro-Set stem features an oversized bar-clamp area for sure, precise steering.
  • The S-Works SL FACT carbon handlebar is stiff, strong, and light weight.
  • The S-Works FACT carbon monocoque fork has an oversized race for incredible strength and precision.

 Cross Season a success!

I raced the whole cross season this year.  I wasn't super, but I was out there every weekend, and actually did have a couple good races.  Motivation was pretty high most of the time.  I still have this weekend to race, but no matter what happens it was already a success for me.  Next year for cross my goals will be a little higher, I'd like to get back to form where I can be racing for the W once and awhile.   Maybe I am just dreaming but that never hurt anyone!

Time to start to get the kit set up!

Pedal.

Zim, Rients and I rocked it at the superfarm yesterday.  My mtb skills are at about 90%.  I crashed 3 times but only because I was going so aggro.  I did a full 180 on a turn.  It wasn't quite like my 360 I pulled at spirit mountain one year, but still.  I raced last weekend if you want to call it that.  I showed my face, sometimes that is all you can do.

 Improving, but not good yet.

Did better this week.  I didn't quit, and I didn't get lapped.  Still not riding super though.  Just kinda rolled around.  The course was pretty fun at the YMCA, a few too many turns for my liking, but can't complain too much.  Frye took some cool pics.
