Brooks Lodge Alaska
 
 
Dan and Sandra joined Sandra's friend Chris and her family for three days of bear watching in the wilds of the Katmai National Park in southwestern Alaska.
 
   


We flew from Anchorage to King Salmon via Pen Air.
We're getting ready to fly by float plane from King Salmon to Brooks Lodge.
This guy greeted us at our cabin the first night.
The ranger is expressing some caution.

At one point we counted 23 bears at the falls.
These guys were just curious as they came within 10 feet of our front door.

Novaputra last erupted in 1912, spewing ash for miles.
This little chipmunk also enjoyed visitors.
