[nara]
Offering instrumental post-rock, sonic textures sometimes calm, other times turbulent, with ambient sounds ecclectically introduced here and there, [nara] offers energic highs and down to every songs. The album Prélude au hasard is reminiscent of a film soundtrack, the images blooming in our heads as we listen. On their new album, [nara] continues its quest for new sonorities. It offers an instrumental music where emotions are center stage. More atmospheric, but yet still rock, the group’s second album will surely garner interest through its melodies
Sugarshack
Difficult to grasp, Sugarshack’s music translates as instrumental Stucco: conceived to be listened to alone on a bed staring at a Stucco ceiling. The pieces are characterised by long, repetitive uprises, each instrument progressively joining the others in order to erect veritable sonic cathedrals until they implode under their own weight, a powerful wave of intensity breaking upon the listener, disconcerting and apeasing at the same time.
