VHS Alumni Band
Updated August 25th, 2009 |

Updates:
The 2009 date for the band festival has been set to October 10th, with a rehearsal October 3rd.
There are many social-networking and photo sites with alumni band material now. On this site, I'll keep an index of everything I'm aware of that's out there, so if you've got more photo galleries or anything else you'd like people to see, just email me with the link and I'll post it up. Also, since not everyone is a member of those sites, I'll continue to post announcements and schedules here.
New photos and videos are posted from the 2008 festival, many thanks to Brent Gueth for his effort in providing these for us again this year!
There are now Facebook and Myspace groups for Alumni band, and a VHS Band for Life group on Myspace. Please join us if you use these sites!

Tunes:
- Opener-- we are going to revive the diamond drill again so we will see what the music will be (depending on how many participants we have). For a smaller group we will use B.A.D. Cats from the '80's or for a bigger group (did I mention that the Cassell family will be participating this year--that should about double the size of the group) we will pull out the combination of Gimmie Some Lovin' and Surfin' U.S.A. that we called Gimmie Some...U.S.A. cute huh?!! We may also have a new twist to the entrance, getting to our step 2 diamond line coming from the sideline, rather than the endzone. We'll see how that works.
- Majorette Feature-- Dawn chose Takin' It To The Streets for the majorettes. It was a majorette # that the Sailors used two years ago, but we will have to find the music. It's lost.
- Reset or down front number-- This is going to be Jazzin' . A hot little # that we don't get tired of playing. It and the score are also AWOL.
- Flagline Feature-- Lee the flagline maven, chose Knock On Wood for her girls. We have this score and the music for this one.
- Closer-- I'm getting all patriotic on you with one, but I want to do Stars and Stripes Forever with you. It's a great little arrangement by Jay Dawson that I used mid-decade to great effect on the field and in parades and I think it will be fun for us also.
