lelavision

Maggie finds the most interesting entertainment. Last night we went to a performance by a duo called Lelavision. It's a combination of music, dance, and performance art. They call it "physical music." One of them invents musical instruments, and on stage, both of them play these instruments while dancing and doing acrobatics.

For example, one instrument is a large metal cone with guitar-like strings stretched around parts of the exterior. They play the strings with a violin bow, or by plucking them. The cone also spins around, and the performers can sit on it or even disappear inside of it.

They also play a styrofoam box with guitar-like strings, they hang from a spinning wheel while playing chimes, they play a complicated melody on a 20-foot long harp with crisscross strings--it's all hard to describe, but fun to hear and watch.
