Product Concepts

by Gerrit Dalman

It's funny really... Apple is famous for taking cutting-edge product concepts and turning them into amazingly innovative and commercially viable tools. Yet that reputation is actually based on amazingly few products. Think about it... There's the Macintosh, the iPod, and the software. But what else?

The fact of the matter is that Apple's reputation, while accurate in my opinion, is based on surprisingly few products. It really makes you wonder about the fantastic devices they don't sell.

Since Apple won't tell, it is left to fans to fill the void with their imaginations. Websites like The Apple Collection have huge archives of rumor-mill misinformation and fanatic fan expectations.

So, having many such ideas on my own, I had a whim to go a little farther. I put together a little presentation about one of my concepts. I narrated it and put it out on the internet as a QuickTime movie for all to see.

So this month, instead of a boring column you might not read, I've put together a boring video you might not watch!
