I love all in one applications that save us from lugging around too much stuff, well folks, this is a great one. Introducing the RoadTrip by Griffin Technology. With this great gadget, you can listen to your iPod in your car over your radio safely knowing that your iPod will stay charged up no matter long of day you have because it plugs into your auto power outlet or cigarette lighter socket
First up is to pick an FM station on your vehicle or portable radio's dial, looking for one only broadcasting static, then you tune your FM transmitter on your RoadTrip using the up/down buttons, then you're set. Griffin Technology has a downloadable suggested station finder for the USA if you want help. It comes with a cradle so you're iPod can be at eye level, and you can even add Griffin's AirClick remote control that plugs in to your ear bud plug on top or iTalk for voice recording on the fly! Since all cars have their cigarette lighters in different places, Griffin thoughtfully provided white plastic pieces that allow for unique situations with many adjustments. On my car, I had to use all the supplied pieces to make it work, and dodge the gearshift, so it made it a bit moveable since it was high up, and only the cigarette lighter plug in to hold it firm; it would be nice to use a telescoping piece that would stay in place, and work on the design of it for a more eye appealing look. I liked the way when you turn on your car, you just click the button the FM transmitter, and it lights up your FM station, and your iPod starts broadcasting perfectly.
Griffin also thought using the FM transmitter would be helpful at home, so you can use the supplied USB cord to transmit music via your computer, to transmit to a radio, wireless headphones or home stereo!
The cradle gives your iPod or Ipod Mini a place to go in your vehicle, and it easily detaches for bringing it with you.
I love getting into my car, putting my iPod into the RoadTrip, and off I go, knowing I've got a fully charged iPod with me, no matter how long I'm away, and yes, you can easily take it with you on trips! Get one!
